About Wesley
Wesley Mitchell is a senior at the Fieldston School in the Bronx, NY, and loves to tell stories through acting and writing.
Growing up, Wesley first began performing as a magician for friends and family, before taking part in his first out-of-school production of The Little Mermaid Jr. Throughout middle and high school, he has acted in school productions as well as many productions outside of school in New York City, and volunteered at several theater companies. He is represented professionally by Bonnie Shumofsky Bloom at Stewart Talent. At Fieldston, he is a member of the school’s Theatre Company and takes acting, playwriting, and directing classes, as well as creating solo performance pieces each year. His sophomore year piece, Sorry, Sniff’s Dead, was about a failed magician and his bunny Sniff and his piece from junior year, The Magnum Opus, was a satirical take on Hollywood. He is also a student at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York, where he completed an Advanced Technique class, after completing their Teen Conservatory in 2023. The summer before senior year, he attended the National High School Institute’s five-week Theatre Arts program (“Cherubs”) at Northwestern University.
Wesley also enjoys writing poetry, plays, and short stories in his free time. He has performed spoken-word poetry at school open-mic nights and poetry assemblies, as well as publishing creative pieces in the Inklings Literary Magazine and serving on its Editorial Board. He has also continued practicing magic, attending Tannen’s Magic Camp with professional magicians, starting the Fieldston Magic Society, and performing for the elderly at the Carter Burden Luncheon Center.
Wesley hopes to continue performing, creating, and telling stories, aiming to deepen his passions for the humanities and the performing arts.
